Raymond H. "Ray" Shores is one of two stockholders in Liberty Assurance Group, Inc. He directs the company's Marketing Department and still makes time to service his existing clients and find new ones.

Ray was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1959. In 1977, he graduated from Manchester Academy in Yazoo City and later from Mississippi State University. He is married and has one daughter, both of whom are active staff members of Liberty Assurance Group.

His career in the insurance industry began in 1980, when Ray was 20 years old. In those days, he sold accident policies, door-to-door. He says, "There have been a lot of changes, both in my life, and in the insurance industry since those days, but I am still very happy to be in this business."

Ray adds, "Through God's grace, I have helped a lot of people over the years- helped them save money on their insurance premiums, helped them cover their medical and prescription costs during their Medicare years, helped them avoid the financial catastrophes associated with major surgery and nursing homes, helped them grow their savings and increase their retirement income, helped them leave an inheritance to their children and grandchildren, and, hopefully, helped them remember that the best years are always in front of God's people, not behind."

• Negotiating contracts with insurance and financial services companies
• Setting commission levels, in cooperation with Sales Management
• Oversight of Internet systems
• Media and public relations
